Trimming CBD flower right after cutting is quicker and the leaves come off cleanly, while hanging whole branches and trimming after drying gives a slower dry and better terpene retention. Space, humidity and patience decide which one fits. The harvest workflow section on

compares both methods and points out that dry trimming suits humid rooms poorly because dense wet flower moulds inside the hanging leaves. I wet trim in autumn and dry trim in winter, which seems to match the room conditions well.
